HEALTHDATA MODERATOR POLICY
This moderator policy reflects the general decisions of the Healthdata Partnership with regard to the submission of data to the Healthdata. Each partner organisation is responsible for maintaining control over their particular section of the database and may have specific information requirements.
General points:
- The moderatorship policy aims to ensure that data submitted to HealthData is of high quality and fulfils the requirements of all relevant Data Protection Acts.
- Anyone wishing to submit information will first need to be a member or employee of registered organisation or group and have their details verified with an activation code.
- Registered users can then submit the completed project or activity details, which will then be sent by email to the moderator of that section of the database.
- The moderator will review the submitted information to verify that it is relevant, uses appropriate language or images and is sufficiently detailed.
- On this basis, the moderator will approve the submission (in which case it will be added to the database) or reject it.
- When a submission is rejected, this will be because it contravenes the conditions set out below. Parties submitting information may be advised to amend their submission and re-submit, or be refused outright.
- Data submitted must be updated at least once a year. Notification will be sent automatically one month in advance if data is not updated within the following month it will be archived.
- Data submitted more than two years following completion data will be archived.
Acceptable:
- Data relating to any project or service development that promotes the health, welfare and autonomy of people on the island of Ireland.
- Data from all sectors (voluntary/statutory).
- Completion of all key fields and specific fields requested by individual partners.
- Must have operating e-mail address
- Submitters must provide notification of changes in contact person and details.
Unacceptable:
- Use of offensive language, images or terminology
- Denying the confidentiality of any person involved. Individuals must have the consent of their organisation for all submitted information.
- Data from submitted from outside the island of Ireland
- Key fields incomplete or failure to provide additional requested data
- Data from private companies where the activity is solely a profit-making exercise.
Archiving policy:
- Data is considered current for a period of two years from the date of project completion.
- Data is considered out of date thereafter. Database users can search this information but it will be flagged by a symbol alerting the user that the data is not current.
